About Lisa

Lisa Ortiz is the Founder and CEO of Creative Little Learners, Inc., a thriving childcare program serving families in Lakeview and the surrounding areas. Prior to her work in childcare, Lisa spent nearly a decade in commercial lending, where she assessed and mitigated risks to ensure the stability of banks' lending portfolios.

A native of Long Island, NY, Lisa began her collegiate studies at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY College at Old Westbury.

As a role model and advocate, Lisa Ortiz passionately champions the needs and aspirations of families residing in Lakeview. Holding the esteemed position of President within the Lakeview Public Library's trustees, she actively spearheads numerous community initiatives aimed at enhancing literacy and educational opportunities for all residents. Additionally, as an executive member of the NAACP Lakeview Branch, Ortiz plays a pivotal role in addressing social justice issues and advocating for equality within the community. Moreover, her involvement as a founding member of the Lakeview Civic Association underscores her commitment to fostering a sense of unity and collective action among residents. In addition to her leadership roles, Lisa is an active member of CSEA Local 100A, the Nassau County Democratic Committee, and Jack and Jill Nassau County. She has also contributed to the Parent Teacher Association of Grace Lutheran School, serving as Correspondence Secretary from 2015-2020 and Co-President from 2020-2021. In early 2023, she was honored with the Woman of Distinction Award for her significant contributions to the community.

Amidst her myriad responsibilities, Ortiz finds solace and fulfillment in her cherished roles as a devoted wife to Jonathan and a nurturing mother to her two beautiful children, Jonathan Jr. and Kayla.
